Today is Not the "4th of July"

July 4, 2007 by Shameless Shamus

But maybe you thought it was.

Now if you check your calendar, it will show you that today is July 4, 2007.

But it is not the "4th of July".

No.

Today is Independence Day.

And that is what I wanted to tell you today.

It may be easier to say the "4th of July" than it is to say "Independence Day", but calling today the "4th of July" diminishes it.

Independence Day is something to celebrate because today marks the day that a great country, America was born.

So when you go out to your BBQ's, your get-together's with family and friends, your fireworks parties, wish someone a Happy Independence Day.

And remember all the things that make America great today.
